Zachary Davies is an undergraduate student reading Music at King’s College London, undertaking his piano studies at the Royal Academy of Music. Within the university, he is active as a composer, pianist and conductor: last year, writing Millarden, a song for soprano and piano commissioned by the Modern Music Society (MMS), and conducting the King’s College Chorus. This year, he will be playing Bloch’s Concerto Grosso for Orchestra and Piano Obligato and Finzi’s Eclogue with the MMS. Outside university and away from music making, Zachary enjoys writing and debating, and has founded The Euterpean Podcast – an attempt to revitalise the more public discussions and debates on music, which were popular in the days of Glenn Gould and Leonard Bernstein.
