ELENA VERIS REYNOLDS

Elena is a music student at King’s College London, currently taking a break from her studies before beginning her third year of an undergraduate degree. She is a first-study singer and pianist, with a wide range of musical interests including opera and musicals, 20th century art music, popular music and music education. In her time at King’s, Elena has been heavily involved with the Opera society, taking on the role of Treasurer. She has also participated as a cast member of several shows, and as Producer of the 2020 production of The Magic Flute. She will be directing the forthcoming production of The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti. This summer, she took part in the British Youth Opera’s summer school on Opera Leadership, and she hopes to go on to study opera management and stage production after graduating. Elena writes regularly about music and the arts, including for Roar News’ Culture section. Elena is passionate about access to music education and is particularly interested in approaches that deconstruct the hierarchy of Western Art music.
